Dare to be Different

Walt was sitting on a bench on the grounds, seeming to just stare into space. One of the co workers, who are manicuring the grass, came past him and said,"How are you, sir ?". Without looking at the man, he said,"Fine," and kept on staring. So the man said,"Mr Disney, what are you doing ?" "I'm looking at my mountain," he answered. "I see the mountain right there." Walt told his architects about this mountain. As he talked, they wrote down that he said, and they drew up plans. Walt died before the Space Mountain was ever built, so he never saw it constructed. When SPace Mountain was dedicated, the governor and the present was present, and Walt's widow was also there. One of the young men stood up to introduce her, and said,"It's a pity that Mr Walt Disney is not here today to see this mountain, but we are glad that his wife is here." Mrs Disney walked up to the podium, looked at the crowd and said in effect, "I must correct this young man. Walt already saw the mountain. It is you who are just now seeing it."

My friend,

(First and foremost, i would to apologize for my absence and in the very late timing in replying your message. I was a bit occupied with a few arrangements and issues i need to clarify and settle before i can move on. For that, i humbly seek your forgiveness in my irresponsible delay.)

I would not incur folly on my part by telling what you should do. Always follow your heart, but be quiet when searching for the answer deep within you. Ask questions, and feel the answer. Learn to trust your heart. Friend, let me ask you 4 questions which i hope can help in clarifying your doubts :

1) Are you clear on the direction of your life (DREAMS) right now ?

By direction, i mean everything, yours dreams, ambitions, aspirations, plans for the future, your personal road map and so on. What is it that you truly want in your life ? What is the thing that you truly want to achieve in life in making a mark for yourself and this distinguishing yourself from others ? Please list down every little details, use the power of visualization and imagination.

Dreams are like stars, you may never touch them, but if you follow them, they will lead you to your destiny.

Learn to trust your heart and follow your dreams

2) The thing that you desire to change (ACTIONS), does it help in furthering you towards achieving your dreams ? If so, how ?

Don't count every hour in a day, make every hour in your day counts. Life is too short for us to be wasted simple insignificant actions that does not serve any purpose, save for a small moment of pleasure. It is always not to early to prepare for the future, i have always believe and hold on to the principle that whatever we do, whatever decisions we make, whatever actions we commit, they should all serve a common purpose and that is in helping in achieving our desire goals. Life is complex enough without us taking up extra chores that has no clear benefits on our future. Therefore, think, does your action helps you in becoming a better person that you desire to be ?

We don't have an eternity to realize our dreams, what we do now is what it counts
Therefore, make every actions and decisions worth your while

3) Are you willing to sacrifice everything for your dreams (REALIZATIONS)?

Are your dreams worth it ? Are you ready to put yourself on the line ? Once you have make a decision, be firm on your grounds, hold your head up high and look others in the eyes and say "I will do it !". Let nothing persuade, sway or derail you from your desired outcome in life. The invariable mark of a dream is to see it come through and only firm and clear actions can see your dreams come to past. The path that you have trod is not a path often took, but i am sure if you have decided on it, then the only true-friend-thing i can say is,"I support you all the way !" =)

4) What are the consequences of your actions ? What are the risks and benefits ? (EVALUATIONS)

Before attempting, ask yourself, what are the alternatives and options available ? Is your current desire the ONLY way ? If you should decide to pursue down this path, what are the pros and cons ? What are the possible scenarios you can see yourself in should you continue ? Does the benefit of this action out-weights all the potential challenges heading your way ? If it is, by all means, go or it !

As you have so rightly said it yourself, you hope break the it-is-impossible mentality of the majority and i cannot tell you how very impressed i am. You're right and i agree with you. Dare to dream big. Dare to take actions. And above all, dare to be different !

If your answers to the above are clear, and you wish to proceed on, then let no man interfere with what you deem fit. As Gail Dever so rightly said,"Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hardwork, determination and dedication. Remember that all things are possible for those who believe". You're a talented a charismatic friend and i am sure that just as long as you keep the passion for your dreams alive, you will achieve your dreams, despite what others say. The only thing that will stop you in fulfilling your dream is you. I know you met a lot of criticisms, financial burdens and other predicaments, but bear in mind of the wise words of Eleanor Roosevelt, "No one and nothing can make your feel inferior without your consent"

There are three types people in the world :

There are people who live in a dream world and there are people who live in reality.
And then.... there are people who turn one into another. And you're one of them^^

There are those dare to dream, dare to take actions and turn dreams into reality
