New Year

It's been what, two weeks since the start of 2010 ?

To be truthful, i think mine only truly started this week. The past 2 weeks had been marred by confusion, frustration, hatred and heartache. It was the first time i had felt so confused about my identity, my necessity, my path and my personality. Last semester, i had tried to changed my style of work and personality to adapt to the current situation. Wearing a mask, hiding behind a veil, perhaps it was too much to bear, suppressing the true me in my heart.

Sadness flies on the wings of the morning and out of the heart of darkness comes the light.

But now, after thinking through things, considering all possibilities as well as undergoing certain counseling sessions with my close friends, i am finally free from the chain of bondage that had tied me to the ground for so, so very long. And because i felt better, and i feel at liberty to understand things from a better perspective in order to remind myself of this incident and why it happened so as not to let past history repeat itself. Tiring but true, it is a tale worth of telling and reflecting...

Yesterday, while Zi Hong and i was walking back, he told me one phrase that i feel is quite deep but true, "If you have never experience grieves, you'll never mature."

Maturing would be easy if it didn’t cost anything, but the price is often painful. In order to enjoy the rainbow, i guess, sometimes we have to brave the rain.

Makes me think of the student who asked his mentor, “How did you become so successful?”
The older answered, “Good choices.”
“How do you make good choices?” the younger questioned further.
“Experience!” said the older.
With a hint of impatience, the younger queried, “How do you get experience?”
“Bad Choices!” replied the older.

"Pain, a significant emotional event can be the catalyst for choosing a direction that serves us - and those around us - more effectively. Yearn for the learning even admist the pain" - Louisa May Alcott

And i believe i had truly gained something invaluable that had added its value into the inventory of my experiences.

It was fantastic while it last; it was educating when it ends

Being able to stand up to face another day is all about standing tall even when all else fell short

Sophia Loren once said,

"I've never tried to block out unpleasant memories of the past, even though some are painful, I don't understand people who hide from their past. Everything you live through helps to make you into the person you are today."

And that is what exactly i am going to do in all my following few posts - unlocking the treasure box of my memories =)

Reminiscing about the past

Good or bad, my memories shape me into the person i am today =)
