The Return

With the examination a thing of the past, i can finally return and rededicate myself into the blogosphere.

*Sigh*

I, unfortunately, can hardly say i am pleased with my performance in my examination this time. To be truthful, i am relatively disappointed with it. After Physics yesterday, i know i am suppose to feel relaxed and free ( All my friends do ! ) but somehow that euphoric feeling evaded me. After knowing that i did careless blunders in my Pure Mathematics and Physics, i felt extremely disappointed with myself.

I know...i know... some of you out there would probably accuse me being a hypocrite; able to advise others but myself. But please, before you pass a judgement on me, it is only fair that you hear my side of the story.

I am not upset over losing a few marks over a careless mistake, i am upset with myself for not learning from past experience NOT to commit any careless mistake. There is a very stark difference between both, albeit almost similar. If it were my first time committing such mistakes, i don't mind because like i said, it's the first time and that's where you get to learn not to repeat 'em in the future. Mistakes after all are stepping stones to success. This is, however, not the case.

I cannot tolerate the fact that i did not learn from my past mistakes.

THIS. IS. NOT. ACCEPTABLE.

Mistakes make great educators when one is honest enough to admit them and willing to learn from them. Only if. We may not be a full time coach, but in some point of life, we'll be expected to be a life time coach. I'm going to be a teacher, coaching students for the betterment of their life. If i do not change myself for the betterment and rectify my weaknesses, i don't see how i have the courage to teach and coach my students. Now THAT is going to make me a hypocrite.

This one-and-a-half-months holiday would be a good time for me to change.

Speaking of holidays, i have gotta start listing down a list of Semester Break Resolution. Contrary to the past culture, i do not sincerely think that holidays are meant for us to eat, sleep, play and grow fat. Holidays, for me, means more time for us to stabilize and revise back what we have learnt in order to gain a better understanding and foundation in our studies, but of course, i will not exclude the 'relax-a-bit' factor in holidays. =)

Anyway, my S.B. Resolution is :

A) Retreat into solitude to re-chart future course and to re-set priorities in my life

This year, there are too many outside influences affecting my priorities and sometimes i can feel myself unsure of which path i am moving towards. There are times i can feel myself feeling confused and lost. Therefore, it is necessary for me to set a path i am sure off and walk down unwaveringly and steadfastly.

B) Revising first semester syllabus for all my subjects and attempting second semester syllabus

Some may argue that i am one greedy person but i think i would like to attempt Biology next year as an additional subject. My reason ? Simple.

Reason 1 : In my Pure chemistry Degree course, i am going to need a certain degree of proficiency in Biology as i believe there's a course called Biochemistry where we'll be needing Biology. If i don't start from now, i think i am going to face an impasse in my Degree

Reason 2 : I'm taking Biology as a sort of counter-balance for my Physics. My Physics ain't great, that's the truth of it. Therefore, if somehow, which i think is highly unlikely that i should fail in my Physics, Biology will be my insurance. In a way, i am setting a back door for myself. This is not a confidence issue, this is being realistic. There's a big difference between blind confidence and realistic confidence and i prefer the latter.

Reason 3 : I like Biology. Simple as that.

Of course, this is not for certain. Everything would depend on this critical semester break for me to contemplate and weight my options and alternatives. There are a lot of factors influencing it and i don't want it to be one hasty decision that's going to make me regret it for life.

C) Re-establish link with my Boys' Brigade Company

I think this holiday would be a good time for me to revisit my company and build relationship with the Boys i have known before i was discharged. Studies is important, but it can only get you that far into the entrance of a university; Friends, however, will accompany you for life. Besides, i also hope to revisit Logos Church Girls' Brigade company. If it is possible, i would like to make their trumpet section self sufficient and self independent as well as preparing them for the Christmas Procession, God willing.

I think that will be the only 3 Resolutions i will be attempting in this coming holidays. It's a long road ahead and the truth is, i have barely started.

Holidays, like i said, is not for us to slack and relax but for us to buck up, strengthening our weaker aspects and preparing for the next league in life.

I love holidays XD
